Ramblin’ Rose Sprint Triathlon in Raleigh, NC May 23

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Calling all women… Well, all women who want to make a difference and have fun in a triathlon. On May 23rd, Raleigh, NC will be the host of the Ramblin’ Rose Women Only Sprint Triathlon. Also, as the name says, NO MEN ALLOWED… Sorry guys, I guess we can only volunteer for the triathlon and support all the women as they compete. So besides the fact that it is a really cool triathlon, why am I writing about the Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon? Well it is because this triathlon benefits The Pretty in Pink Foundation. The Pretty in Pink foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance, resources, and support to under insured and uninsured people diagnosed with breast cancer in North Carolina. Now you may ask, yeah I know that breast cancer support is great, but why do you care so much??? Well, the reason is that my Mom is a breast cancer survivor and I am extremely thankful to still have her here with me!!! Because of that, I try to do all that I can to help support the various breast cancer agencies and help get rid of this terrible disease! We all deserve to keep our Mom / Sister / Daughter / Aunt / etc… around for many more years. Please check-out this great triathlon. Thank you!

Which Princess Are You?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

So everybody knows that Walt Disney World is “where dreams come true”, but did you also know that it is a great place to do a half-marathon? Don’t believe me, well it is true… On March 7th, the Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida will be hosting the Disney’s Princess Half Marathon. This run will take the racers through the heart of Disney (from Epcot Center to the Magic Kingdom, and everywhere in between). That sounds so cool! Only one problem… No guys allowed. This race is only for the Princess (wife, sister, daughter, mother, etc…) in your life. Bummer! Guess I’ll just have to enjoy the park while my wife does the run.

Oh, and for all of you looking for a good cause, this race will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society which is dedicated to finding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. So come on down to support a great cause, see Mickey Mouse, and support all the Princess’ while they experience the half-marathon.

The Power of Pink

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Are you a woman? Are you a triathlete (or want-to-be triathlete)? Then this sprint triathlon is for you… On August 9th 2009, the Midlothian YMCA will host the Pink Power Triathlon in Chesterfield County Virginia. This triathlon will promote the Bright Beginnings Back to School Program of YMCA Giving Campaign.

This is a woman-only triathlon, so if you are intimidated by those triathlon “dudes”, here is your chance to strut your stuff with other women. To make it even better, all of the volunteers will be “dudes” so you can show them that women are just as fast (and possibly faster) than them. Do this triathlon with your Mom, your sister, a close friend, or just a bunch of other cool women! Much of the swag will be pink’ish in color (hence the name Power of Pink). Come on out and enjoy yourself! See you there!
