My Philosophy: Everyone has a life - family, work, personal commitment, etc. BTS philosophy is to customize training plans and take advantage of the time an athlete has. It’s more about quality versus quantity. This requires an involved athlete in order to get the most out of it. Of course, goals must be realistic and in line with the training time available to the athlete. Bicycle riding is critical to become a better rider, but gym/strength work and healthy lifestyle is also important and emphasized.

My Experience:

My sports training started when I was young growing up in Mexico playing soccer. When I was 11 years old, I started playing tennis as well. I played both sports until my I picked up cycling to rehab a repaired ACL. During my 80’s I taught tennis to beginners and coached soccer in the 90’s. I started cycling in 1993, and got into coaching in 2001 after hiring a coach for my wife and I, and seeing the results of structured training. Since then I have coached several State Champions in road and mountain biking. I also compete as a Category 3 road racer and category 1 mountain bike racer. My current passion is competing in multi-day mountain bike races. I’ve had the pleasure to compete in theCape Epic, Trans Rockies, La Ruta de los Conquistadores and the Baja Epic.

• Initial consultation – Discussion of short and long term goals, Threshold test, and first 4 week custom training plan - $250 • 4 week custom training plan after initiation -$125 • Threshold test - $125 • On site coaching/training - $50/hour
